A Quiet Storm Brews is an audio visual poem that investigates the feeling of outside, following months of being inside due to lockdown. Through sound, text, and graphics, the work looks to convey the weight and weariness that comes from trying to reconnect with social space. The realm of sound is used as a space to portray and investigate these feelings. The work is inspired by a desire to model and describe occurrences native to our urban environment into the digital. This is inspired by the alternating use and consumption of public space during the pandemic. As streets and other shared space emptied, our use of parks similarly altered. In A Quiet Storm Brews, its alteration is presented as a sum of snippets of still moments.
