Bio
I am a part-time student on the Msc Urban Studies programme at University College London, and come from a Swedish-Egyptian-German background. I was raised between London and Cairo, and moved to Berlin after completing my BA Geography degree at King’s College London in 2017.
To me, emergency is a slippery term. I wonder, who gets to distinguish what an emergency is, and what is not? Aren’t we living in a constant state of emergency? At least it feels like that for as long as I can remember. As such, I think it’s helpful to frame emergency as something that means different things to different people across different positionalities, geographies, and temporalities. In doing so, it becomes clear how emergency is pervasive.
